Hello everyone. Looking to set up my first 6 footer in a little while, an Aqueon (All-glass) 150 gallon (72x18x29).

now, here is the thing: I currently own heaters and two rena XP3s and a few AC110's - so I am not planning on going the sump route.

Has anyone run a tank this size with just two XP3's?

I was planning on starting with the two XP3s and adding an AC110 later on (trying to cut down on unnecesary power consumption at first).

As far as heating goes, I have two 250W ebo Jagers. I am assuming this will be fine.

any thoughts? Suggestions? experiences?

thanks,

What the stock of the tank?

i would go with the two xp3's and two ac110.

I am using the heater that attaches to the XP3 pickup tube and it seems to work quite well. My rays have never been burned by it. I am using a XP3, a XP4 and a 60 gallon sump with scrubbies on my 320g tank. I used to have a second XP3 but I broke the cover on it.:screwy:

I'm running that same exact tank. I would have used 3 AC110's in combo with my canisters but the tank is to close to the back wall for them to fit.

Using 3 Eheim 2078 Canisters and 1 AquaClear 70 Powerhead in the middle of the tank to help with surface movement, as far as heat, I'm using 2, 250-watt-Stealth Heaters.

Only thing I notice is that the fish poop seems to collect in the left corner of the tank, but with no substrate I just pump it out with water changes.

you have the koi/goldfish right? I remember your thread. You have a big Jag in there now right? how are you fish coming along? you should post some more pics of your tank - it is awesome

the 150 size seems to be not the most popular size. But I think it looks fantastic.

most seem to go with the 125 size instead, or right up to the 220.. which is the same tank only wider..
