Hello everyone,

I'm getting my 150 gallon today, it was an awesome steel only 300 bucks. I need some advice on filtration. What would be the perfect set up in order to keep this tank crystal clear? Please give me brand names as well if you can. Thank you so much for your help.

fluval fx5

an fx5 is a great choice with a smaller back-up filter like an xp2 or aquaclear 110 as mentioned. another decent combo would be a rena xp4 with an xp1 or ac110 as your backup.

you could easily do with one fx5 or one xp4, however your going to find alot of people advocate the pro's of having 2 filters incase one goes suddenly.

2x Rena XP3 + a HOB as a backup.

or

1x FX5 + a HOB as backup or smaller Rena canister as backup.

HOB filters I prefer Bio wheels but everyone has a different preference.
