Hello, I'm new here so i hope this is the right place to ask this question...

I have had other smaller aquariums in the past, but this 150 gallon is the biggest I've had.

I know that the best Filter out there for a tank this size is the Fluval Fx5.
I was planning on buying one for around $300
But when i was looking around i saw this:

http://www.truaqua.com/aquatop-canister-filter-cf-500uv.html#tabs

It pumps 525 GPH as opposed to the 950 GPH of the Fx5 but I was thinking of getting 2 of these...

Any help in choosing out of these will be really helpful, or even any other filtration ideas

Thanks in advanced

I saw those....would not touch it with a five foot pole

Well you have to think about actual filter gph, not pump output. The fx5 does pump out 900+gph, but with no media etc, with good media etc, you will be luckily getting 500gph,which is good, but it's not 925. Same with the one you're considering, 500gph pump output, but maybe realistically 250-300. Same with an eheim 2217 for instance, it has a 1200gph pump output or something like that, but it really only circulates 200gph or so!..

I saw a new fx5 on ebay for 211 shipped with filter blocks too.

I just bought a Fx5 off of ebay for $250, free shipping, and im also probably gonna get an aquaclear HOB filter, i was hoping to put maybe 2 - 3 tiger oscars and a couple other similar types...
