im currently constructing a 150 gallon aquarium the biggest problem ive ran into is along the way my 45 gallon aquarium has had a blowout i cant simply reseal the glass because the plastic bracing has been snapped and any supplies i need for the big tank build i was also wandering how suitible a fiberglass resin is for sealing plywood can it be used as a final coat i already have one coat of two part epoxy down but only on the inside this product also does not fit my budget so i tried swithching to the fiberglass and coated over the epoxy if the fiberglass resin is suitible how many coats should i use and any ideas on how to get this thing up and running in a hurry on a budget next to nothing even temporarily it was origanally suppossed to be something i could work at a little bit at a time but i now have 10 large chilids housed in a 10 gallon aquarium my big pleco wont fit and is in 20 gallon rubbermaid bucket

You could buy one of the kiddie pools for about what$10-$20 to house them all temporarily while you build your tank. You'll probably have to cover it some how, and it won't look pretty, but it's better than keeping ten in one tank. And like I said before, it's just a larger temporary tank.

thanks for the reply turns out i could use this even after my build i have two kids and its almost summer why didnt i think of something like that

I have built several plywood aquariums, I use a resin called Glovit as the base coat (two or three) and then I use gloss two part epoxy over that (two coats) make sure you use water proof wood glue on each seam as well as brass or stainless wood screws. I have one tank ( i sold the rest) that is 25 years old and still going strong. If you have the time and expertise you can put fiberglass under the glovit but I never did that.

i've thought about that, using a kiddy pool for a temp tank but my son would be in it with my rays the second i leave for work lol
