Hey there I have a 150 gallon tank that I set up a few months ago it's 4 foot by 2 foot deep and 31 in tall. I recently put a sun sun hw-304b canister filter on the tank love the filter but I have dead zones in my tank all over I have quite a bit of driftwood in the tank and dead zones are around the drift wood. So my question is do I need a power head or 2 of so what kind. This is freshwater tank. Any advice is welcome too

Tank stock-
1 red spot severum
2 gold severum
2 red shoulder severum
4 angels
2 red head geophagus
1 rope fish
1 royal pleco
1 flyer pleco

Its never really good to have dead zones in your tank, so yeah I would add something.
As far as what kind everyone has their favorites. I would go for something with the boat motor type blades, like a fan blade. Im drawing a blank on what they are called.
Anyway, these will give you a wide flow pattern instead of a jet type powerhead.
I looked it up: hydor koralia, Was what I was thinking of. But there are others.

I'd spend the money on more filtration first. That filter is rated at 525 gph at the pump. After adding media and head pressure you're significantly less. You probably have a turnover rate of less than 3X an hour through your filter (probably closer to 2X). I'd add another filter, then see if you need powerheads. And if so, I'd suggest looking at Koralia.
