ok, so it turns out my baby festae growouts had some kind of disease, and died? anyway i was wondering what some of you guys would put in a 150 if you had one empty, would love to hear any suggestions. although i would really like a few large aggressives in there?

It seems alot of people lose Festae, one minute they are fine, the next they are dead. I hope mine make it !

There are so many fish that i would like to keep, given the room. Maybe grow out some La Ceiba, and keep a pair ? xiloaensis look nice too.

Don't listen to me i have just brought myself some Breidohri to grow out too

Good luck with whatever you choose !

is it a long or tall tank? I just set up a 150 tall and I have one male Flowerhorn in it.
If i didn't have the FH, I would be looking at a breeding pair of Grammodes, Trimacs, A. Lyonsi. Something a little less common that the typical MiDevil, Oscars, and JD's. True Green Terrors, or Gold Saums would be nice as well.
Since my tank is a tall tank, Discus could also be awesome if i ever got the urge to set up another planted tank. It all depends on what you like. Keep us posted.

the tank is standard i guess? (5x2x2) i bought it anticipating that i would keep a pair of festae from the little group. i really like all parachromis and amphilophus species. favourite traits in a cichlid would have to be aggression and personality, as well as size

Africans are still cool though, especially the larger predatory haps.
you could try a mixing experiment with africans and new world, ive done it lots of times it works great if you know which fish to match together (tank bred fish can acclimate to most water types and thrive in them before somebody flames me)

you could have some Bichir in there?
Get a big mean ol' snakehead?
some of the Vieja/paratheraps cichlids with all the amazing colours?

your tank is a really good size for most cichlids, just make sure you match well :)
