ok the question........iam looking to upgrade to a poss 300+ gallon tank but this looks to be round january time.....
do you guys think its possible to buy more cichlids now and keep happy in this tank<no fighting at present.....
want to get them together why they are still young fish....
reading the overstocking thread for south/central americans and made me think it could actually be possible:naughty:

i'm going to say no, because it looks like it's bulging to the seams already. i shouldn't be one to talk given my experience in 'tank busting' from >10 years ago, but now i wouldn't do anything like that now.
but ultimately it depends on your filtration and water changes schedule. if you keep the water top notch then might work out. but i say keep things as they are as there's still a lot of time left till january for your jag and GT especially to put on more size and possibly aggression.

:iagree:. Ewok has it down to the tee. You could but most of the time crowding CA's won't work. I mean you can do it, but you definately lose some fish. I say when you get your 300 put a drip system on it and crowd the hell out of it. I love when big tanks have lots of CA's but only when they are kept healthy and in tip top shape.

ok thanks so much for the imput guys......
iam going to leave it now.......
another question you know these pangas/irridesent sharks 2-3 feet....i love them and my lfs has some at 1inch for £2.........how long do they take to grow and ca it be grown out in my 3foot tank with a birchir
