I have just purchased a second 150 gallon tank. I was wanting to put an Arowana, but I dont know what other fish to put in with it. So if any one have any ideas about a proper tank mate for and Arowana in a 150 gallon tank please let me know
thanks

I would recommend a bigger tank for the arowana first wether its an silver, black, or jar. Tankmates that I've kept with my aro's are (midas, knife, bichirs, dats, and severums.

you could probly get away with a 180-220 for a couple of years for a Silver or a Jar for life... but bigger is always better.

I have the same problem as you. I have a 150 g tank and wanted an asian arowana. If I do get it I will have to get a larger tank after 1 year such as 200 g or more. Good tankmates are datnoids, bichir, stingrays, fei feng etc. Good luck! I might just get a pig nose turtle instead to make my kids happy.

What are the dimensions of your 150g tank? The footprint of the tank is more important then volume when keeping arowanas.

Definitely, the footprint is MUCH more important! One of my LFS has a 3 foot Silver that has the downturned eyeballs that are a result of too small of a tank. So make sure that tank is wider (the more the better!) than the arowana is long.
