a 150 would weigh 2,000lbs, at most (high liberal estimate). that would be like having a football team having a huddle in your living room. your floor could probably handle that. put it against a structurally supporting wall, and you could even check local building code to be absolutely sure. a 150 should be fine, but every house is different. of course, it could depend on whether it is a standard 150, or a 150 long. obviously a 150 long is going to have better weitht distribution.

right... and mine is a 150 tall... it would be right up against a wall...

come to think of it, if it comes down to a 150 long or 150 tall, I wouldn't do it. but, when you think of the 'football team in a huddle weighing more' analogy, you should be fine. I would do a quick search on building codes and standards, compared to the age of your house, of course. you could probably find that info online. I'm lucky, I live in florida where basements don't exist (groundwater is too high).

take the time and check building code to be sure. moving that thing upstairs is a task that could probably use some procrastination, anyway. I'm pretty confident a 150 shouldn't be a problem. a 1,500 on the other hand...

if you would have a party in the house the tank will be fine

it maybe risky to have the tank in the room and a party :D

I was thinking that, too. if you have a party, with 30 people in your living room, that woud put over 4000 lbs on the floor. sure it would be fine. but yeah, I'd avoid overcrowding a room with a large aquarium.

i have had my 150 on a first floor for a few years now, check your floor joists and see where the beams are and how much spacing you have. you should be fine. the only issue i have is the floor may become creakie from the floor boards being slightly stressed, also in theory the smallest room in the house is the strongest being that the floor joists are closer. the 6 foot long tanks dont have issues do to them covering more joists and the weight being spread out evenly over more beams . 4 footers i would shoot more for the retaining wall side

i barely got a 77 gallon into my room with 2 people
with half filled with water.
your chances with 10 people and 150 are pretty slim.
