I lost my 12" Butti and 5 nice size clown loaches to some kind of illness. Butti's eyes turned super cloudy and he turned white and croaked within a day. So now I have to decide what kind of fish to get now in my 150. I was thinking of planting it and having a community tank, but whenever I go to the LFS and start looking at fish I find the friendly fish very boring and keep going back to the cichlids. I've always wanted an arrowana and some p bass but after reading about them, I don't think a 150 is big enough...thoughts? I saw a picture of the most awesome looking festaes and that got me excited, but I'd also like something different like a gar perhaps? I think the ancient fish are pretty cool. I just don't know what to do! So many choices! Any input into what would work well together in a 150 would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, let's try a different approach..... If you had a 150 to start over with, what would be YOUR ideal mix of fish for the long run?

Devil.pair of cons 3 tf barbs and a spotted gar and a catfish id do channel and give it away or eat when big.no plants would be ok in it though and a peruvian or albino oscar will mix beautifully it sounds like a lot but will look amazing

if you like oddballs a 6x18 would be an excellent fit for many polypterus species and if your LFS takes large trade ins or you know anybody in the area with a large take you could keep a monoculus peacock bass for quite a long time in that setup.

I've never really seen festaes but I saw a picture of one the other day and my jaw dropped. From what I've read they are very aggressive and they get huge. Would having a festae limit my other choices?
