I have a couple of questions. I was planning a 1500 plus gallon tank similar to the one I saw on YouTube with slanted corners, I like the design. The viewing windows are 4’x8’ and (2) 4’x4’. My question is glass of cast acrylic. I have priced 3/4” plate for $1800 for all, but the acrylic was an outrageous price., over $5k for 2”. Not sure what thickness I need. The video used 3/4” plate.

Next question, has anyone ever used a heat pump with water pops going in and out of the titanium heat exchanger not sure bag method to heat tank?

Also can anybody make a recommendation for a pump to filter tank? Been researching quite a bit. Thanks

You'd be ok with 1.5" acrylic. I think choosing between glass and acrylic comes down to budget and personal preference honestly. I personally like acrylic for weight and I don't have to fear someone hitting such a large panel and shattering it. For heating....I took an out of the box type approach. I used my hot water tanks to slowly drip water into the system as a 24/7 water change type system. Once I dialed in the correct flow to keep the temp right at 78 I let it be and it was rock solid for over 5 years before I tore the tank down. Easy water change, and cheap heating. it was a win- win in my book :)
