basically this will be a long thread spaced out over some time. am signing the papers on my new house to be built this sun. am looking in doing a in wall tank with the room dimensions being 12x 12 room this is where the tank and fish room will sit.
the tank am looking at 10' long 4' wide 6' tall i know this is a tall tank but its something I've been wanting to do for some time now and i understand how hard matince will be with this depth. but i would still love some feed back on that as well just to make sure i didn't for get something
behind the tank i was going to use the rest of the room as the refugium/sump and build a catwalk over it as a dual popruse walkway yo reach the top of the tank easier as well and to eliminate dead space. the hieght of the room is 8.4'

1) house build i was not able to get a floor drain but with the false floor / refugium am not to worried about spilling water. am getting dedicated circutes for each outlet " what would be a good breaker size to use " their is a bathroom next to this room with a floor to sink pipe drain so i can easily do a y-t and run it to the other room where i was going to have the floor 3' up to make room for the under tanks. then i will have a space out side for the reserve tanks and salt mixing station with pumps.

2) tank build i was going to do a plywood fiber-glass tank with an epoxy seal. the main and refuge sump tank will be one tank total in the end with every thing connecting and sealed together. i was going to take the epoxy seal and hit the floor and up the wall first then build the tank and re seal the tank to the floor and walls to make it water prof as one piece. the walls will be 2x4 stacked on top of each other for a soild 4" wall with 3/4 plywood inlay inside the tank. fiber glass resin 4 layers even tho they say i only need 2 and then the sealant. i found a plexi glass sheet 98x72x1.25 that i was going to epoxy and lag bolt to the display window, for a seal and structure bracing. i also wanted to put a hidden overflow mounted on the back.

3) sump refuge this will be 6'x10'x3' with a walkway built on top.

4) equipment right now am looking at making it fully automated with a touch screen control panel using the apex as the base and a switch board panel as a manual back up. the light am looking at ecotech cannons and or their new flood cannons. these are the only lights that i found that will give me the depth that i need, and now they come in different colors that i can control. as for the other equipment am up for suggestions.

5) rocks and sand. am gong to use filter sand for the first 5 inches then live sand for the last inch which will make this a deep sand bed of 6" am currently running a deep sand bed in my 150 and i really like it its help me out quite a bit as a back up. the rocks am going to build my self using white Portland, oyster shell, and crushed coral, and extra large slat rock.then soak it for some time to get the leaching lime out of the rocks this will allow me to have a huge open mind on the rock work.

6) water flow am going to use several gyros as a circulation flow on top with ocean motion for the return water on the top of the tank as well as ocean motion for internal close circute flow the close circute will have at lease 150 gallon tank out side for extra water space.

7) fish room i plan on putting in a quarantine tank as well as a grow tank for the corals. once i place something in the tank i really don't want to have to go back in. main purpose is to stay out of the tank. i like to buy frags and baby fish and watch them grow so i am going to set up the system so i can do that and grow frags my self for resell to help with the cost of the tank.

8) am going to run this tank green am using solar panels and a battery bank to run this tank so no power spikes or outages for me. am also thinking on connecting my tank up the well for the yard this will be a solar power well deep. with an ro-di unit connected to it to help out with the water cost. this way am not looking at any power cost or water cost. my goal with this hole tank to make as much as a natural ocean feel to it as possible. so am looking for natural filtration and things of that sort

if you have any questions please ask me i might not have thought of that before or if i did i would love to share my experience with you and or knowledge that i was able to find. also with that being said if you have any advise please let me know am still keeping an open mind on this project. the house should be done in june 2016 and then am going to start getting this preped for the build.
