So I have a 150g I will be setting up a couple months from now but want to start planning on what to get.

For filtration I kind of want to get a sump and maybe an fx5. Any suggestions there?

For stock I have a couple idea in mind.
Maybe a managuesne along with 1-2 other large aggressive cichlids and maybe some large bichirs.

Maybe an arowana with bichirs.

Those are my only ideas right now.

Give me a lot of ideas, I have almost 6 months until I even set this tank up so I have plenty of time to make this tank perfect!

i would put some green terrors & texas cichlids i have a few of the there pretty fish

Where is it going to be? FX5 is wayy quieter than a sump. And less wattage too.

It will be in my basement somewhat out of the way. I have just heard great things about sumps even though I have never set one up. Would 2 fx5 be good? I want crystal clear water as much as I can.

2 Fx5s would be great and in conjunctions with WC regularly your water should stay incredibly clean unless you way overstock the tank

just make sure if you're gonna put bichirs in with jags you get species that are gonna get large enough to not get eaten by an adult jag, i'd probably go with ornates/endlichiri or some of the other larger specimens

Of course NCstatefisher. I have had experience with senegals and palmas. Both probably stay too small for an adult jaguar right?

That's what I was thinking, just wanted to make sure you had put that in to consideration :P

Anyone have any other ideas for stock?

The oonly thing I would change equipment wise is I would disregard the FX5 for the Eheim 2260, or 2262 which BigAlsonline has in stock.

Why ya like them betteR?
