Hey Guys

Just finished My discus tank in my bedroom and now I have my 2nd 150G in there I need to turn into something more colorful and eye catching, at the moment it houses a Jardini who is going to be moved into a 7 or 8 footer, But i cant figured out what to add to the tank once his out!!

I know I want color and something that really stands out and wont eat or destroy plants and all so I can add some charter to the tank, any ideas would be great! tanks a 5x2x2 currently has 2xfx5s to handle the big boy but will most likely be moving one.

I was thinking of adding my flowerhorn but she will destroy anything and really requires a plain tank which I am not really feeling in my bedroom. Frontosa sound nice but not sure how well they would do in a 150, I was even thinking a mass schooling tank but I kind of enjoy bigish fish any ideas?

Thanks too anyone who gives it a shot!

I am a big fan of Oscars. I have heard that they will destroy plants but all the Oscars I have had haven't messed with anything. Granted they aren't very colorful but have great personalities. I also like the Red Jewel as they have good colors. My 2 cents is just that being I am not very knowledgeable with the Monster Fish as I have only been a Oscar guy, but I too am trying to expand my tanks..

a big vieja might be nice (blackbelt or red head),maybe a severum

Hey all

Ive figured it out

C02 Planted with

-Balas ( move them when they grow)
- BGK
- 100+ different tetras
- rams
- Angels
- Gouraims
- MAYBE some discus if I find someone selling them cheap to see how they go in a community tank

I got to big parts of wood coming and some dupla ground :) !

sounds pretty good .be careful of adding discus , I hear angels dont stock well with them ,for health reasons.

Yeah, It would be a test run just to see how well discus do hold, a friend told me if you look after tank properly and treat everything with the same care the angels will be as safe as adding other discus bacteria wise, was only warned about aggression during feeding time and territorial fight!

I might be dropping the C02, I dont want a full planted so dosing with liquids might be easier, I have never used C02 and a few people have suggested getting a smaller tank and testing it out first getting used to the PH swings etc etc.

Anyways Ill add some pictures when I get it started, Ive put together the stand together for the 8FT tier so now its just a matter of getting the tanks up, Then I can remove the jardini and start planting and hopefully adding some balas to keep the bio feed!
