Im setting up my new 150g with a sump. Ive never used a sumo before, on my 110g i have a canister. The sump came with the tank, its a big biorocker sump. Is this all the filtration i will need or will i need more. What do i put in the sump, ill post pictures of the sump tommorow

What size pump are you going to use, more specifically what's your turn over rate. Also what's your stocking list and how big are they?

See what I mean? Food in poo out. Very important for setting up a filtering system on a tank.

Are you planing on mechanical filtration? i.e. filter sock or filter pads of some kind? What about bio media? I would recommend bio balls and put as many as you can afford. Try to keep some of them out of the water i.e. wet/dry filter and so on.........

does your sump have an area for a refug? if so, you can put sand/rock there and at some point they will become part of the filtration provided you are running a salt water. If its a freshwater set up, you may as well set up a wet/dry

Yea its for freshwater. I dont know what size pump to get. Im going to be keeping a couple small umbee and then an umbee pair. Yes I plan on putting filtersock, filter pad, and media, like a bio ball. I would like to see like a sump build.

There are many, many types of sump set ups. Try and do some research on here so you can get a better idea of what you have or want.
