So 150 gal 2 large drift wood 6 2 inch discus. A flag tail and 6 clown loach just got 7 cherry barbs but they are staying low under the small Anubis. So now I need a good size school of mid water I'd prefer if they have nice color and school tightly. Any ideas?

I thought cardinals school quite tight? Maybe not a large enough group? Although thats a guess on my part?

if u want true schooling fish. get rummynose. one of the best schooling tetra's.

^ Oh yeah, good ol' rummy nose tetras, they're fast and like to school... so that could be a good option...

Cardinals are loose schooling fish, true rummynose are great but you gota be sure as the other two that look like the rummy are not tight schoolers True Rummynose Tetra (Hemigrammus bleheri). all the others are false. The problem with these babies is they do not thrive at the high temps the discus prefer. the reason people use cardinals with discus is they thrive at the high temps. When the discus get large though they might just make a snack of them.

How do you feel about Congo Tetras? They don't have a lot of color but they are a good lookin fish once they settle in. You could also try some of the dwarf rainbows. I personally loved my Neon Dwarf Rainbow, not a super tight school but in a good sized school they still look great.
