Can I keep one in a 125 gal tank?

At this point yes, only because a standard 125 is 18" in width. (assuming your is a standard 125). But you will probably have to upgrade once it hits that 18"-20" mark.
I would say to house a silver for life you should at least have a width of 36". But the bigger the better.
