In september / october im gonna buy a second tank. This time a 160gallon or a 185gallon tank. This will depend on the difference in pricing.

The measurements of the 160g are: 78,7inch length x 19,6inch depth x 23,6inch height.

The 185g measurements are: 78,7inch length x 19,6inch depth x 27,5inch height.

I want a whole bunch of the same fish in the tank. I was looking for 4 to 6 or even more of the same fish. A fish that reaches a good size of 7 to 10inch. I also wouldnt mind to start with only 2 if they are easy to breed.

Fish Im not looking for are: Jack Dempsey, Green Terror, Oscar, Uaru's.

Fish I would like, but where im not sure of if they would fit with 4 to 6 of them in my tank are:
- Geophagus brasiliensis
- Gymnogeophagus labiatus
- Heros severus
- Hypselecara temporalis
- Bujurquina syspilus (small fish but I love their colors, could be like 10 of them in my future tank or more?)
- Geophagus pellegrini

These are the fish that looked interesting to me. But I dont know if there are rare or expensive species amongst the ones I wrote?

Or do you guys recommend me some other fish that can be held in larger groups in this size of tank.

Keep in mind im not planning on adding plants to tank, only wood, rocks and sand.

Thx for the help!

Of the fish you listed I would go with the Severums, the Chocolates(temporalis) or the Syspilus. Since they all are fairly mild tempered and will school well. You could add some Anubias or Java Fern to the drift wood for a fantastic effect. Good luck!!

Thx for the info. The severums and the syspillus are my favorites in the list too.
How many severums will fit in there? And how many syspillus would fit?

Which of these 2 will reproduce itself the best?

Severums reach around 7-9" (20cm), so you could add 6-8.

Syspilus max around 3-4" (10 cm), so you could have 20 or so. They would also breed the best.

In a tank they big you could probably still add a few Geos.

Thx for the advice! Now ill have to wait 4 months before I have the tank!
