Hi MFK. This is my first post here on this site and im quite excited. Anyway i want to make an all male setup for my new 160g thats coming in next week. I have only 4 fishes right now so i need yur help to find more for a beginner.
Placidochromis sp. "Phenochilus Tanzania"

Nimbochromis venustus

Protomelas sp. "Steveni Taiwan" (Taiwan Reef)

Otopharynx lithobates (Zimbawe)

Well those are the four. I don't know anything else.

Also i inherited a 1.5inch jack dempsey from my cousin because she couldn't care for it. I was wondering if he could live in the same tank as the haps. He is already living in a 55g mbuna with a divider so he is use to the water being hard.
Any help would be great.

Well where i was going at is to help me make an all male hap setup with the fish i posted and the jack dempsey. I need help from you guys to help me cuz i've never done an all male setup with a JD before. The only thing i know is that i need a ig tank and the fish i picked are all colorful:D

Sorry for the confusion:)

My lfs won't take him and i dont have a spare tank to put him in for long term.

Also i dont want him living behind a divider for most of his life.

You u guys help me create a nice all male hap setup built around the four haps and JD that i mentioned above?

The JD will run that tank, and if i'm correct the water conditions if suited for Africans will not be optimal for the JD . If getting rid of him isn't an option, i'd suggest not going the African route and instead go with a CA/SA tank. JD's, GT's, Oscars, and the list goes on and on.
Also, if a new tank is coming, why not let the JD have the 55 to himself, and have the Africans in another tank?

Im giving my 55g to my uncle be he wont be able to take the JD because he'll be using the tank as a mbuna tank.

Anyway maybe your right, ill go the ca/sa way and avoid the african tank.

Sorry for disturbing this subforum:D

Ill make a new thread in the ca/sa sub forum
