We don't have the current funds at this time to build a large pond, so we improvised and purchased a 6ft.x6ft. Intex Pool. (Holds around 230 gallons when completely full.)

It is nothing much but it was very inexpensive and will work perfect for the guppies.

The pool is nowhere near finished as far as the decor goes & this weekend we will be adding LOTS of artifical plants & vines.

BTW: If anyone has ALOT of water lettuce available, please pm us with a price. Our goal is to cover the surface with these plants.

do what you got to do, I like it!

Thanks.

Nice idea

Thanks.

These are personally my favorite types of "indoor/diy" ponds.

I want to order one these: http://www.intexcorp.com/index.php/...ols/small-rectangular-frame-pools/58983e.html

Go for it! : )

I think the pond is a little small for those whales and dolphins.

They are still babies so the pool gives them a little room to growout. lol.

UPDATE: We did add a few more water lettuce plants & a large fliter a few days ago. The driftwood is still soaking & will not be placed into the pool until a couple weeks. Our guppies for the pond are due to arrive Wed. or Thursday and we will post a picture of them as soon as the fish settle into the pond.

What are you doing for filtration? I want to try something similar. Keep us posted.

My sister purchased the filter from one of the local pond stores in NC. You can adjust the water flow on the filter & it includes all media & sponges.
We had to put something heavy (the blue box) on the top on the filter in order to keep it from rising just until the sponges sink on their own. The water level is on low in the pictures.

The guppies arrived early this morning & I just finished feeding all the fish when these pictures were taken. The plants have grown alot in the last two weeks so the fry should have some hiding areas as the plant roots are long.

I'm glad you didn't add a liner, I love the character of the pool with the fish printed on the sides, makes the water look so BLUE
