I have recently spoken to a pool company about replacing my pool heater with a new gas one and this is the cheapest way to supply and heat 11,000 gals but the guy did say that a 3kw elec heater would be just as cheap over 5 years as a ground source heat pump when you take purchase price in to account.....

My LFS recently had a fire and are selling off their inline 3kw heaters cheaply, this seems like a good way to go?

Hope this helps

a lot of koi keeps heat ponds outside in the uk and they have big debates over this. Basicly from what they find is for the cost of a gas system or a large heat pump it works out the same and a lot less hassle to go with the large electric heaters like the jumbo versions of what get used in tanks.
