My 18 inch congicus jumped out and died....he jumped out yesterday and i found him in tim...but this morning at 5 before i left for work i check the tank and he was fine...a little later my wife caslls and tells me she found him dead on the ground...she put him in the tank but said he was already done.....sad day for me in the hobby.

Sorry to hear of your loss troy, was there a lid on the tank?
Where did he get out?

Lids wete on tank. I am still baffled how he escaoed, its bummed me out. My friend is offering me 1 same size for a great price so I am just thinking about if I should do it or not. Thanks

Best to have a tightly secure lid. Your congi jumped out twice and you plan to get another one. Fix the problem first before getting a new. Make sure the cover is tightly secure. If it is, not even a 30"+ bichir can escape. I often find bichirs jump put of their tank when it'sway too small for them.

I'm sorry for your loss Troy. Bichir is good at escaping. Make sure to cover all opening, including the opening for your hob filter.
