here is a simple kit that I picked up at the Home Depot for $17 and change. I have had it for quite some time but didn't really think about it being something to post here. It just hit me a while ago that I use it more for cleaning tanks, parts, and filters than anything else. An added PLUS is that it requires almost no skill and this is something that the younger crowd can easily get permission to do. (I often forget about that one.)

When the hose is hooked up, the shower head is automatically shut off. You can use this during water changes to get fill water at whatever temp you need (will take some playing with). This is also super handy when giving pets a bath (pets hate garden hose baths as much as you would hate a shower with only cold water...try it sometime.)

I dont get it...U fill ur tank with the shower hose? How? Ive been trying to figure out a way to hook my shower outlet to a hose so I could fill my tank.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I missed your post because I was away on a month long vacation (almost). Actually I do not fill much from the shower. I also plumbed in a hose spiggot under my sink. That does my heavy duty filling. The sprayer in the shower is mostly for cleaning and small fills. The quick disconnect makes switching from shower to sprayer lightning fast. You could get a longer hose if you wanted to fill your tanks in another room.

Better way is get a T ball valve for showers. They are standard 1/2" pipe thread, or 3/8 pipe thread. Get the appropriate reducer to reduce from 3/4 hose thread to 1/2" or 3/8" pipe thread, and just have a RV hose (white with blue stripe, they are food grade). Just like that you have a hose fill kit from shower. This can be purchased for roughly $19.

That sounds like a very easy way to tap into the plumbing. I am not sure what the T ball valve for showers is or looks like. Is it something standard that Home Depot would have or is it only from a plumbing specialty shop? Could you see if you can find a picture on the net, I am really curious.
thanks

This is a basic one, not the style I use, I recommend going to your local Ace shop as they will likely have the best selection.
