Hi guys, I bought a 150 gallon tank last week. Looks to be in good shape, but I noticed the manufactured date was 1996. The seals look to be good, but is that pretty old for sealant? I'm just worried and don't want 150 gallons on my floor...Thoughts please.

I was going to suggest, for your piece of mind, sitting it outside and filling it so it can sit for a few days but I doubt if that's possible right now due to the current weather conditions.

When I got my 225 it was suggested that it be resealed. I didn`t want to take the risk so I resealed it myself.
the hardest part is scraping off all remnants of the old silicone. It only took about 4-5 days in total with the drying process. If you want peace of mind its really not much effort

Yea it's sitting in the garage right now, but it's single digits here....

....and just a state away,we are almost under a foot of snow now.
