I normally don't see 180s with rounded corners but one I'm looking it has it .

It's 7/16" acrylic with rounded front corners. Is this safer, same, it less safe than non-rounded versions?

If I get you right, the front two corners are rounded, and back two are normal. They are said to be stronger due two seams being removed as the front and sides are one continuous piece.20181125_131806.jpg I have a 55 like this. I am the fourth owner of the tank, has a repair on the top but holds water just fine.
Are they better than normal? No clue really that I will leave to some mathematician. I like them due to the no hard seem on the front of the tank.

I have a 150 1/2” 5x2x2 with rounded corners and has been with me for 10 yrs. I like and it seem fine to me. In my opinion it should be stronger since it’s one piece and manufacture used heat to bend it. The reason why you don’t see too many 150+ rounded corner is the extra cost. The cost is an additional $300-$500 since they take a 10ft sheet of acrylic to bend. My was on back order for two weeks bcuz manufacturer ran out of 10 ft acrylics to bend.

180 6x2x2 should be 1/2” front, side, and back or else you will see it bowing out like a 60g.

Exactly, thanks for the reassurance!

Only issue is this is a 6x2x2 that is 7/16" thick so not quit 1/2".

Besides bowing, any long term issues like leakage?

It seems to me that the production made acrylic tanks are a bit thinner than tanks people have special made. Now my 55 bows a bit as all acrylic are know to. Thing is acrylic are near shatter proof vs glass. So can take an accidental hit and not have 180 gallons of water on your floor. Also acrylic is less likely to blow a seam. As the glue actually melts the two pieces into one. So unless it's was a shody glue job or sitting outside unused for years acrylic are in my eyes a safer bet. Tho would test fill in a safe place before setting up in the main house if you have not seen it filled in person.

personally I have never seen one leak but the bowing might make you lose sleep.:thumbsdow If you have to think this hard then it’s probably not a good idea. Wait until you find one 1/2” or non rounded corner.
