Home of the brave.
My wife and I are leaving for Peru for two weeks. I have someone watching the house while we are away but I do not trust them with a WC, only feeding.

My question is if I do a 50% wc today, 50% wc tomorrow, and leave on monday will my pets be ok? I usually do a 35-45% every 4 days due to my tank being underfiltered for the time being.

All my fish are happy, healthy and have been thriving in my 180g for months now. Water parameters are always good and stable.

Stocklist:

10 inch Thai KML FH
8 inch Gold Saum
6 inch motoro ray
5 inch zz fh
12 inch marble sailfin pleco

Yes they all get along great and have been for a long time!

Filtration:

2 EMP 400's
Ehiem 2213 classic
Hydror 3 power head

Yes I know I need more, hence the 2 FX-5 comming to me when I get back. Either way water parameters are excellent.

Any experience or opinions are welcome thank you.

You'll be good....

You don't need nobody to watch your fish when your gone.

One more filter would work to.

I feed them alot to keep agression levels down. My concern is not with the cichlids but with my motoro since he is still small. I want to make sure he is fed but this wont be a problem since I do have fam staying at my house and they know how to feed my pets.

Yeah id go for another filter before you go,especially as you think its underfiltered already, spend a bit on a filter or possibly lose some nice fish, what about sponge filters, they are cheap and they work well?

Feeding them less before you leave will reduce ammonia levels and they will produce less waste.
