I have a 180 gallon aquarium and intentions to transfer 2 8"+ oscars and half a dozen blood parrots (2 of them are around 5-6", the other two 2-3") into it. It's been cycled with filter media from their currernt tank. The oscars and parrots have always gotten along, even when I had added the smallest 4 parrots (oscars payed them no mind, largest parrot chased them for a bit but now swims right along with them).

I am also adopting a 3rd oscar from a friend. It's around the same size as my current 2, maybe just a tad bigger.

The final addition I am hoping to make to the tank is an 8" red devil. It is rather aggressive and is currently in its own aquarium. I was hoping to be able to move all of these fish into the 180 gallon (or at least the oscars and rd).

Anyone have any tips about introducing these fish to the new aquarium with the possibility of them coexisting without tank dividers?

I would keep it out of the setup, as none of the others are nowhere near its level of aggression

A Red devil which has been housed in solitary is not going to be very understanding of your wishes and will most likely beat the snot out of your Osacrs. I may work, all you can do is try. Your best chance would be to add the Oscar's first. Give them a couple of months to establish a pecking order, then add the Devil.

Good luck with it.

I don't think it will work. It doesn't matter how you introduce them to each other. The aggressive RD will not change his attitude. That is why you see them in tanks by themselves most of the time.

If it is a true Labatias chances are slim to none. But theres always a slight chance it will work.If I was going to try I would use the method Marc stated

I would keep him there.

rd is way to aggressive i kept my 4" rd with 6"+ tigeroscar and the rd was too agressive for oscar and i have to use a tank divider

I seem to have pretty good success with devils and tank mates...Give it a shot with a net handy.

I can't see it working, but there are always exceptions. If you can have a plan B ready, then give it a try but be very watchful.

You know you want to try it.

How about this? If it doesn't work simply put the RD back in the aquarium he came from.

And make sure you have lots of filtration for the big tank and frequent water changes!
