180 Gal qusetion

Hi,
I have two oscars i am gonna add to a 180gal and was wondering in everyones honest opinion:
1. whether or not its big enough for two O's,
2. If its big enough for another tank mate: Severum or pleco,
3. What sort of filtration is best (Not sump)
4. And anything else that you think will help!

yes it is big enough for two,get two fx5's if you dont want a sump(but a sump would be much cheaper and better) and yes you could add tankmates, i have a 180 with (2)twelve inch oscars,(1)8 inch uaru,(1)7 inch synspilum,(2)7 inch bocourti,and(2)pearsei one 7 inch and one 3 inch,but i also have a 90gallon sump and a fx5 and two aquaclears 110 for filtration,some will probably say that is overstocked plan on moving the bocourti when they grow out

I was thinking a severum or something but that certainly sounds the go, sumps are so sophisticated i dont know if i can handle the effort...... thanks!!!

you can add another tankmate, especially a severum, and 180 is ok for the 2 oscars. As for filters, just go with the best you can afford, no such thing as too much filtration

Cheers i think to start ill add an fx5 with some sort of powerhead maybe a 1200 if possible!!!

Thats alot of filtration! I have my 75 wet/dry on my 180 and it does a great job by itself for 10 Piranhas. I couldn't imagine having a 90 and an FX5 plus 2 Aquaclear 110's. More power to you though!

Im gonna go the 6x2x2. As for filtration i'm gonna have to go Cannisters straight up, till that is later on. Any other suggestions would be appreciated like tank mates, i like Jd and was wondering what they're compatibility was with O's???
