I just purchased a 180 Gallon All-Glass Brand glass aquarium and I noticed on the back corner where the 2 pieces of glass meet there is what seems to be 2 bubbles in between. I cannot really feel if they are holes or chips or just air bubbles. I called hte store I bought it from and they said it was fine and not to worry. I still dont feel too comfortable with it like this. Should I put more silicone on those parts just to be safe? Should I return it? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Are you talking about on the seam where two walls are sealed together? How big are these bubbles? Pretty much every tank I've had has had bubbles in the silicone along the edges - not big ones, but you can see them. I've never had a problem with it.

It is not really in the silicone it is in between where the 2 pieces of glass meet. They are about 1/4" each and right next to each other.

I'm sorry - that's what I meant - in the sealant at the joint between two walls. I just looked at my 55 gal right now and I didn't see any bubbles at the joints. I know I have seen it before in my tanks, though, and never had a problem. I really wouldn't stress about it if it were my tank, but its your tank in your house, so I can't fault you for wanting to return it.

if i were you i would take it back you payed your money so that entitles you 2 be happy with what you paid for if they say its good then they shouldnt have a problem taking it back and giving you one to your liking i mean thats my outlook on it

:iagree:

I have to go along with chomp and kab on this one...If I baught a new car that stalled every time I put it in gear I would never accept "OH they ALL do that..." as an answer from the dealer.

I've baught used tanks before that had bubbles and in most cases I resealed the tank or at least repaired that section but you baught a new tank...it's not as if they gave you a discount or anything because of it...

I took it back. The problem was they didnt have another tank this size, but I found the exact same tank at a different dealer. Perfect shape. THANKS!
