As some have seen my build I have going on in my signature below...I'm almost done with the 180 build and will have it done within the next 30 days or so. So, i'm finally starting to think about a stocking list for the tank and would like to have these below. My question would be how many of each would you go with in a 180...

(1-2) Herichthys Pearsei
(2-4) Uaru Amphiacanthoides
(1-2) Heros sp. "rotkeil"
(1-2) Heros severus "red morph"

Also would love a school of clown loaches for the bottom, but haven't decided on that yet. Give me some of that great MFK advise folks :)

Thanks

I am in the process of setting up a 210g right now. Pearsei are on my wanted list. I do hear they are large fish that need a ton of space. I am trying for a single big male in my set up.

I figure I have the space for a few, I know the Uaru like groups of 3+ really. Just trying to get some numbers before I order them.

i would leave out the pearsei and do 3 of the uaru and 1 each of the severums. the pearsei look alot like the uaru so i mean you could do it but if it were me and you really wanted another cichlid in there i would add something else of similar aggression level though i think 5 cichlids all getting possibly 10-12 is plenty for a 180g, if anything i would add a catfish or bichir and some tetras or something

Not a bad ideal, I would mindn't some tetras in there that wouldn't get consumed by the other members of the tank. I love tiger barbs, but they just nip fins to bad and yes I know in schools of 10+ they shouldn't do it, but i've had them in the past of that and they still nipped. How about adding a Veija to the mix and taking out the 1-2 pearsei? I'm just trying to get a little mix of color and fish that are not that aggresive. I didn't want a 180 gallon tank to stare at 1 fish, I will get a 90 for that :)

4-6 uaru and one each of the others?

3 is a bad number for uaru, chances are you'll end up with a pair and a spare that gets picked on, a group of 4+ or a pair would be better.

Thanks for the input....the closer i get, the farther i get lol
