I have finally reached the point in remodeling my own house, where I get to put a tank in my wall. I've been framing houses for 9 years now and keeping fish almost as long, and I've always wanted to put a tank somewhere in my house. Some of you know I have lots of stingrays out in the ray room in my garage, but I have no tanks in my house. I got this tank for free off craigslist. This guy was remodeling an apartment complex and when they came in to do the demo, this 180 on a ghetto stand was still filled with water, dead live rock, and the sump, pumps, heaters, skimmer, lights were all still there. It was free to whoever could come get it that day. I arrived about 30 minutes after he posted it, so it was mine. After about 3 hours of breaking down the tank, I got it home, sold some of the stuff and made some money. I made a custom overflow as you can see on top of the tank, painted the back black, and it has sat in my basement for about 9 months. I need to build our play room, so I can remodel our master bedroom, and move our bedroom furniture into our living room. So this is part of the remodel. It may take a month or 2, which I hope it won't cause I can always use more tank space, but I hope to have the room and tank completed asap. I'll try and update as much as I can. I started framing the walls 2 days ago. Here is what I have so far. Thanks for looking.
