Hi everyone. Rescently I have set up an 180 gallon with:
1×green terror M 5in
5xgiant danios
1xfenestratus 2inch

I was thinking of green terror and fenstratus to be the be center peice and maybe a few 6 to 8 inch fish. Im looking to add 1xseverum and 1xyellow/orange cichlid. Any recomendations on yellowish cichlid other than severum? Any comments on stocking or any other fish recommendations?

Thanks!

A group of Geophagus tapajos could be nice, depending on your substrate. They stick to around that size range.
There is also the fish I always gravitate back to.... a school of silver dollars! I love the activity level and excitement at feeding time ...

I would agree with Mattybecks on the tapajos
-1 or if ur lucky 2 GT m/f not two males
-Giant Danio school
  • 3 or 4 Geo Tapajos
  • 3-5 Pictus cats

Of course I’m talking at adult size in long term. With the GTs I’ve noticed they have a wide range of aggression levels, but for the most part GTs are generally more peaceful than they are made out to be, its when they are crammed into small tanks when they get aggressive but that’s every cichlid.

Im not the biggest fan of geophagus body shape. But im really into the pictus. I have a small pebble substrate however.

It’s more like soil than gravel though right? They should be fine either way. If not Geo then you could try Severum, but honestly you should try Geos they are awesome and peaceful... you may be able to get away with a group of firemouths, at adult size I’d say you could do a group of 5 or 6 with a GT pair only thing with that is that GTs grow much larger than FM but with that kind of space fighting should be minimal with proper water changes.

Hmmm. So many options!

Black ghost knife fish would be cool, but you’ll need live food and string filtration

If your looking for a mixed CA tank then I would stock. But if you go for a mixed tank I would strongly suggest adding more rocks and structure to create territories.

1x GT
1x Jack Dempsey
1x Salvini
1x V. Fenestratus Or 1x V. Argentea
2x Firemouth
4-5 x Pictus Cats
1- Clown Pleco
2- Bristlenose Pleco
10x Giant Danio
