OK so i was told by someone that i could house 2 oscars, 2 ebjd an eclipse catfish, 6 clown loaches and 6 silver dollars in a 180 gallon aquarium. I have come to this forum because i figure someone will have their own two cents and explain how i could make it better. I don't know but it seems overstocked to me... Thanks:).

A 180 is a good sized tank, the stock list seems alright as long as the fish don't bother each other. My two biggest concerns would be 1. The oscars and EBJDs having territorial issues, as well as the fact that oscars get larger quicker than EBJDs. 2. The oscars and EBJDs attacking the silver dollars.
If you want to be safe either go with just the 2 EBJDs or just 2 Oscars. If you grow them out together youll have better luck though. Provide lots of cover, plants and caves. And obviously you will need plenty of filtration.

OK awesome and yes i plan to get all these fish as babies. If things get a little out of hand i will be prepared to try to move the EBJDs. And as far as filtration goes i'm planning for two medium sized canisters and one relatively large HOB. Nice Largemouth Bass BTW. And thanks for all your help.

Oh and also I will get the clown loaches at a larger size because i know they are slow growers

Sounds like you know what you're doing, best of luck to ya.

Having everything grow out in the tank together can help with tolerance. That being said I would add the oscars last, especially if the JDs are small. Also clown loaches will do better in groups. Keep us posted.

And i will this setup might not be for a while but when it is finally completed. I mean it could be a really long while. Ill post a thread and include some pictures. Thanks.
