Somewhere lost
I was planing to get a 180 gallon aquarium and make it salt water and want to get an eel I was thinking a honeycomb moray eel? But I want an opinion on whether its a good eel if not what is and what would be good to put in with it like coral, live rocks that type of things

I don't want shrimp I would love to get an eel always wanted one just never had a salt water tank but I want to know what people would think is the most intresting eel is why I posted this

The only morays in freshwater are the young that are born in freshwater, they all need to be moved to atleast brackish water once they're a bit older

I like salt water now that I am doing it and the things you can get for salt water are prettier and much more intrasting and for the longest time I wanted to do salt water tanks

personally one of my favorite eels was a ribbon eel. They can be challenging to keep, but a very unique/different type of eel. They don't get huge, approx 3' iir. I had one years ago when I did saltwater for about 3 years and it was very hardy once i got it feeding. they have a very unique life cycle.

you better have some cash to drop on a ribbon eel. any of the morays. If you wanted to start with a snowflake they are cheap and hardy. There are a lot of eels out there though that you could get. My favorite is the Zebra Moray but check out diver's den on live aquaria as well as their eel page.
