I would say less mine outgrow mine in under 2 years the male was ok but female got big and 2 foot wide just was not good enouth .
well the 180 i am getting this week for them. they are in a 125 with a divider in it right now because of other fish in the tank. so a 180 is going to b there home until they grow out. just wanna know how long i have. as long as they don't grow as fast as an arowana . then we are good. cause my silvers grew to a 1ft over night lol
lol ye my silver is heading that way rays do grow fast feeding well my female doubled in size in a year the male will be fine in your 180 for 3 to 4 years but female woulndnt. My arrowna went from 4 inch to 12 in 6 month and now hes trying to bite my rays first time he does hes gone
All depends on your tank up keep. I would agree 2-3 years maybe even 4 if you feed once a day and do water changes every other day or every 3 days. If you do daily water changes and feed 2-3 times a day then maybe 1-2 years tops.
just keep them. and keep them happy. everyone warns you but each fish/ray is different. i've had my rtc for 4yrs and everyone told me it would be to big in 2yrs. he's still a sweet heart but nowhere near 4ft. or 3ft lol
a pair of rays, in a 180, will be fine for quite a while. they grow quick, splash around, but only you will know when they need an upgrade. buy em, raise, em, keep em happy
