my father is giving me his salt water 180 and im going to put my oscars , frontosa, sevrum so on.......
1st off is this going to be ok going from a slat water tank to fresh. im going to be using a seperate wet dry its a dual overflow one.
2nd is a wet dry the best for this application.
3rd if possible could i use a 72" coral life pro light thats on there now for the fish...it has 4 power compacts and 3 150 halides and 3 lunar bulbs thanx guys!

as for going from salt to fresh shouldnt cause any problems. on the lighting though that is probably wayyyyyy over kill for a fish only tank. no sense in doubling your powerbill so you can see your fish

Switching over should be fine, you could always sell the lighting to someone going to reef and buy some more fish or filters.

Im interested in some of the lights!!!
a wetdry is your best bet in that situation I think:)
I have switched a salt tank to freshwater with no problems.

that much light may blind your fish but you caould get a sun tan

i would keep the lights just in case you ever wanted to switch back or go planted

you could always get some floating plants or something to help diffuse the light
