I just bought a 180 gallon tank and wanted to know your opinion on some fish for it. It has a 40 gallon sump. I want 2 Oscars, 1 black ghost knife fish, and that's all I got so far. What do you guys think on how many/which ones to get in addition?

Everything depends on the temperament of those oscars really. The BGK may not do so well with them initially. Other than that, think about some species of cats, maybe a giraffe cat or something along those lines, a dither fish like silver dollars or flagfish. Bichirs are always a solid way to go. They are hardy and when full grown (or well on their way) they are big enough to deal with the oscars aggression.

I have a BKG in the 180, along with a sun cat, 2 pleco,s a common and a gibby. (not a lot between the 2) Oscars does not care about them, durr is right on the Oscars tho, this will be your issue with 2.

I will let others reply. keep in mind going to run Oscars they or it will be the feature fish, BKG fish needs a cave and will not be seen much. pleco,s need wood and poop all over the place, I love mine, 14" and 12" but not for every one. love the sun cat also. almost 4 years old and about 12" , he comes out at feeding time or when i turn the lights off but a wonderful fish.
