I have a 180 gallon tank that is going to be empty soon. I wanted a pbass but I found that they get too large. Will large mouth/small mouth bass work? What would be some good tankmates if they can fit? Thanks for any suggestions.
It would be good for largemouth until they get to about 16" ish inches. Im sayin that beacause thats when they can crack your tank. Ive heard that smallmouth are alot more agressive than lmb so unless you want 1 then thats good. Crappoie, bluegill and sunfish would be fine though.
Thanks for the reply. I have to get my piranha rehomed before I do anything but it never hurts to start looking. I think I may try to get a couple of Red eye bass or coosa bass. They seem to be smaller than the other bass species.
They may be either extremely hard to find b/c most bass besides smallie, lmb, stripers and white and yellow bass live in streams, like pretty big ones, and several i think are endangered. But you can try
I agree with you that they may be hard to find but they look amazing (at least in my opinion). They are on the limit list for TN at 5 per day with no regulation on size, so I am guessing they aren't endangered. I am trying to learn all of the markings on them as well as the other fish I plan on collecting. I wish the darters weren't endangered.
