"don't plan on breeding them" huh?
Good luck with that.:)

You don't plan to breed them? Hope you are handy with Cichlid sized tweezers. You'll have to do some castrations

Just kidding - If you have 2 sexes, you will get breeding activity...
As for keeping more than 1 together, I've done that too. At one time I had 15 4 to 8 inch RD's in a single tank, and I had probably 3 or 4 breeding pairs going all at once. Quite a sight.

Wait till the RD's are pushing 10-12 inches. I cant imagine there not being problems. How a cichlid acts as a juvie vs. as a mature adult is two totally different things!

I have seen a 55 gallon with 6 7-12" red devils living in harmony with about 35 convicts varying from 2"- 6" and a giant common pleco 18". they could barely move but there was no fighting. but once we brought all these fish to the store I work at and seperated them things were different. we had a 75 gallon with the 6 devils and the herd started to thin out quick. I think 3 were killed and the othere three had to be seperated into different tanks. these were fish that lived in harmony their entire lives.

Hrmmm... I think the Red texas (if you can find one/afford one) would not last very long in that tank. If you really want a Red Tex, make it the show fish, put in in a 75 w/ some SD's or something.

I have two oscars in a 125g and although they aren't too aggressive, they still like to butt heads. These two are both 12 inches+ and it gets a little crowded when they are zooming across the tank.

Now you want 3 red devils and a Flowerhorn, a 10 dempsey and a RT all together? What makes you think that this will work? (just curious, not trying to be a dickhead) What is going to happen when the RD's are all 12inches, and the FH is 12 inches? You are going to have 5 ft of fish in a 6 ft tank (not counting the Red tex). In an 8 ft tank, I would say maybe, but in this particular situation I just don't think its going to.
