Hi, After deciding to try to start small diy projects and then progress to larger ones... I have a few questions

-What are the dimensions of a 180 wide?
-Would it be cheaper to buy it or build it?
-How thick does the acrylic have to be?

Thanks!

dimensions can vary, but i think they are around 2'
probably buying would be cheaper
not sure about the acrylic

you can ask google... "How many cubic inches in 180 gallons?" it'll give you a huge number (41,580) ... divide that by how many inches long you want your aquarium (try 48"...), then divide it by how deep (umm... 24").... you'll end up with a hieght (36") you probably don't want it... so then just play with the numbers a little bit.... make sense? Oh and of course you don't have to do it in the order of lenght, depth, height...

the usually 180g measurement is 6'x2'x2'. u can use the coversion page on the links bar to see if other dimension come out to be 180g wutnot. it's definitely cheaper to buy one...a used one that is. new ones will cost ya, and even if you build one urself it's not gonna be cheap, cuz of the cost for acrylic materials.
