what would be your recommendations for a pump to pump about 2000 gph @ 4' of head EFFICIENTLY?

Reeflo Snapper. Does 1900 GPH at 4' Head and you can get one for $200. Watt draw is 110. I got one used and it hums a bit, but I've heard that the brand new one's are virtually silent. But these are exclusively external pumps (not submersible).

I've also heard good things about Mag Drive's but I've never owned one. Those are more versatile; you can operate them externally (in line) or submerged. But the Mag 1800 does draw 145 watts, so it's not as energy efficient as the reeflo.

What are you using the pump for?

right now im using a cheapy 1200 gph barracuda utility pump, it was $40 at menards. but its an energy hog and i want to pump more gph and use less electricity. its one of those plastic vortex pumps.

this is what the pumps for. my 1200 gallon indoor pond. but im adding a drilled 150 gallon tank with 90 gallon sump into the mix, so i want to be able to pump everything with one pump and just put a T in the pvc lines one side going to pond filter other side going up to a 36 watt uv filter then to the 150. the pump will be in the 90 sump underneath the 150. the sump and 150 will be replacing the lower section of the pond. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180859
