I just picked up a 180g acrylic tank. It is approximately 18 years old and has a lot of built up calcium from it previously being used as a reef tank. Can anyone give me some pointers on cleaning this tank up. My plan is to use vinegar and a semi abrasive sponge to remove all of the buildup. Then if the tank is really scratched up I will wet sand and polish. Is there anything I am missing? I can’t wait to get this thing up and running. cheersIMAG4395.jpg

thank you all . with deeper scratches would you recommend spot sanding? from a higher grit down to about a 2000?. I do plan on buffing it all out then. I discovered that the stand needs to be rebuilt so I have a lot of work ahead of me but hey it was free =)

at this point i would just sand and buff the whole tank.
might as well since it isnt setup or anything.

bar keepers friend works amazingly. I wish I would have used this on other projects before. I am going to start with a high grit polish and buff down to a fine grit. sanding makes me nervous haha. if there are large scratches I will take appropriate action to sand those out.
