Currently running a 180g with 2 AC110s. The tank is divided with a 10-11in rhom and a 5in manueli. I am also running a jebao rw15 so that there is tons of water movement. I have a 75g sitting around so I was thinking of moving the manueli to it. Cost is a factor so my thoughts were to buy a SunSun hw302 (like $50) and connect it to my 180g for pure bio. I will also continue to leave one ac110 on the 180g. I figured with the rw15 that should continue to be plenty of movement even though the SunSun is only 264gph.

The 75g would then get a single AC110 and I have a korlia 1400 that I would also put on the tank to help with movement.

Considering my stock is so low I think I will be fine for bio and water movement on both tanks, but just wanted some input. Btw I moved away from a FX5 because it was a pain to open and I have read/heard that SunSun in addition to being much cheaper are also much easier to open than Fluvals and Eheims.

I am in a similar situation with the 75 but I was considering picking up a fx5 or fx6 for my 210 that I am in the process of setting up. I have also considered a pair of sun sun 404b's to maybe get the 210 started and switch to the fx's later.

I think the ac110 on the 75 would be fine. I have one and a sponge filter on my 75. I did swap out the foam that comes with it for 30ppi poret foam.

The way I have configured my AC110s is as follows:
- Cutting the foam block in half
- Adding fine filter floss over the foam block
- As much as biomax that will fit
- 1 purigen pouch
- separate pouch for probiotics

Mine are set up different for different tanks but in the 75 gal i have 2 x 2inch 30ppi poret foam blocks, 2 bags of purigen and a big bag full of bio. What are you using for probiotics. Allot of members from what i understand dont keep it in the filter permanently

Earthworm septic. It is the one that is recommended. I don't keep it in there regularly. I stick it in a baggy that goes into the filter and that I will be replenish every week. I used to hang it in the tank itself, but my piranha would just destroy the bag half the time and make a mess.

Lol coolim gonna try ridx. What dosage are you going with ?

Sorry to derail.

Anyway i think your good with the ac and you could always add a sponge filter...great for bio

I dose 1 tablespoon per 90g for each water change. The problem is that this stuff is like dust. I bought a purigen baggy thinking that would work, but it still does not trap everything. The best thing I found was a stocking in all honesty.
