I am planning on getting a 180g soon, and growing out some CA's so that I can mix them w/ some of my adults. I plan on having a sand substrait, live plants, a lot of hiding places and adding all the fish at once.

Stock:

A. robertsoni
A. altifrons
A. rostratus
H. deppi
T. meeki
T. ellioti
T. mixteco
C. sajica

I was thinking of adding a salvini, JD, and grammodes to the mix. Do you think this will work?

sounds good but i definitely wouldnt add a grammodes or salvini, they are just way to aggressive for some of those other fish, JD might be ok if you get a mellow one or have it start out as the smallest

are you interested in firemouths? that would be less aggression

Longtime no hear, probably my fault. Salvini's aren't gonna be a problem they don't demand alot of space nor do they serialisticly kill off other cichlids. They are fierce don't get me wrong, but usually in defense not as an aggessor. Best thing about Salvini is they don't dig. You could always try the Grammodes and hope he's mild tempered. JD's can go either way but usually except a numerous variety tankmates. No Oscars ??? Theres gonna be alot of top space unused in 6x2x2 less the grammodes chases'm up there.

Hey man, good to hear from you. I've been extremely busy myself. Thanks for the help. I am keeping this tank completely CA, and I sold my oscar actually. I want a grammodes, and salvini badly, but I guess it will be a hit or miss when it comes to aggression.
I am only going to own the 180g and a 25g and selling my other tanks.

Pics of the fish I have for this tank:

salvini or JD might work out if purchased very small and grown up with the others but I'm not sure I'd try to mix grammodes in with the others. Most of the ones you mentioned are more on the semi aggressive side. Sure you could get lucky and get a fairly mild tempered grammodes, but you might also wake up one day to a lot of dead fish after your grammodes decided to flip out. Not worth it imo. :)
