I m making my 180G tank from scratch.

1) 3/8" glass. 60wx24dx28h use I m making my 180G tank from scratch. about $250

2)use GE 1200 Series Construction Silicone Sealant - Clear.jpgGE 1200 Series Construction Silicone Sealant - Clear ( 3 of them . $15 dollars each at amazon. Free shipping)
The silicone is not really smooth but it is much stronger than others. if you are making a large fish tank.. for construction purpose, you really need this one.

3) Also, I use Marineland 31010 Silicone Caulker, 10.3 oz, (304)ml for the top and other small joint.. this silicone is really easy to use and very smooth to work with Marineland 31010 Silicone Caulker, 10.3 oz, (304)ml.jpg cost:10 dollars from Amazon. Free ship

4) then i make the stand with 2x4.. and reinforce with 1/8" degree corner metal (from Home Depot) to make sure the tank is safe . The metal is drill into the stand first, then we put the bottom piece of glass in, then i glue all the glass together to have the tank made.

never done this before.. but i did a lot of research.. and first time i use different silicone ( it fail and the bottom of tank break open. ) the silicone i use now is really good... worth the money!

If you can make a tank, you can make an overflow box :)

good work on the tank. Im considering getting a larger tank, round 8 foot in the next 12 month, wonder if i can build it myself and advoid the hassle of getting in in my home.
