I currently have a 180g stocked with oscarsx2, blood parrotsx6, green severumx1, pl*costomusx1. After finally finding a replacement aquastop valve for my fluval 404, I filled it with biomax and got it running on the tank. The filtration for the tank now consists of Penguin 350x3, Magum 350x1 (mechanical only), and the Fluval 404 (bio only).
I had originally purchased 3 of the HOB's for the tank as it is care of my parents for a while (I still have a year and a half left of college) and I figured these filters would be the easiest for them to maintain, but now want to take a couple of them for use on a 55g salvini breeding setup.
I feel ashamed to say this, but I must admit that the 180g only receives 30-50% water changes bi-weekly (I drive 4 hours one way to do this) as my parents are unable/unwilling to do this themselves. I'm somewhat worried that removing those filters will result in a plummit in water quality (again, my parents only like to feed and look at the fish). Do you think the 180g will be okay with the Penguin 350x1, Magnum 350x1, and Fluval 404x1 or should I just leave it as it is?
