Well, perhaps a good thing I dunnno, but my 180 was delivered with a cracked lower trim so I am waiting for it to be swapped out next week. In the meantime I got abit silly and currently have a 20g holding 4 Cubans no more than 1.5" long, 3 Polleni a Mayan, and a Raphael cat all about the same size. All these fish were planned for the 180g though perhaps not in those numbers, the mayan was actually never planned, I wanted festae and learned it was a false red terror after I got him. The majority of the fish in the 20g will be going back for credit, they won't be going in the 180. I will likely choose 1 Cuban, 1 polleni, and the Raphael cat for the 180.
Now to the rest.. (this tank may end up all female...) I will be purchasing all of these fish at 2" or less:
I have a few RTM lined up, of which I will try and choose 1 female from.
A must have is a female festae, would love a pair, but that would mean no other stock...
Astatheros robertsoni x 1
Astatheros Nourissati x 1 > for both of these I hear its either a good sized group or a single or it won't work.
small group of thoricthys malcupinnis (4-6 to start)
purple spotted gudgeon x 2-3?
some other cats to be decided, none that get over 8" length though..
at least while this group is small... a dozen swordtails as dithers.. yeah eventually they will be food.. replacements? Can denison barbs work in this environment.
Scape to be PFS, with driftwood, river rocks (once spring rolls in) and perhaps some low light plants, or fakes if nothing else.
Filtration = 2262 + Fx6 + AC110(optional)
Lighting... if I go with any live plants it will be the bare minimum likely with the live plants in middle of tank and ends shaded.
I'd appreciate any feedback
