Just picked up a 180, for my 6 RB. Their currently 5-6 inches with a pleco thats about 7-8". The pleco controls the tank. They never touched him, in the old 55. Is there anything you think I could also add, that wouldn't end up being Killed? I have them on Algae disc's, fillets and the occasional live food.

Your pleco is actually at risk. Everything may be ok now but could change at anytime It takes one nip and the pleco to make a sudden movement and it could be all over. Will it happen?? I think it is inevitable. When?? Could be years I guess it is possible that it will never happen. Just be prepared metanlly for when and if it does :).. Spotted or striped raphael cats (although you will never see them and I did have a causualty), very small fish such as neons when the Ps get bigger...Thats about it.

maybe try neon tetra's or some of those very small oto cats (look like mini plecos they're usualy about 1- 2 inches) your always taking a risk with keeping anything with piranhas

nothing worked with my pygo shoal or rhom, just matter of time. maybe some snails.
actually for 180g you can add more pygos, just make sure your filter keeps up.

with a 180g I would go with 10-12 pygos what kind of filtration will you have?
I've got a sump, running, and A new FX5. The Pleco has been with the RBP since the beginning . He was 2 inches bigger when I put them together. The P's where only an 1" at the time. What about larger P- Bass??

Peacock bass with Piranha???, no man just other piranhas only, your pleco will be lunch one day as well check out some of the stickys above this thread, filtration sounds good tho

Do you have any rocks or small hiding spots? If so you could try some crabs or crawdads. They usually end up lunch in my tank but they live for about a week if they are smart and we've had one crafty little red clawed crab living in there for several months. My RBP's are about 6" too. The crab hides until the time is right and he's really tricky, hiding in the P's shadow to steal scraps of food. But crabs need to get above the water for air and they need somewhere to hide.

Howdy,

Your Ps are too small to add any other species. Once they reach 8-10'' you can try tiny fish - my piraya tolerate Endlers, they're not enough of a snack to be worth chasing. Do not try larger fish, they'll get killed.
