I am having lee-mar build me a 180 gallon tank 4'x2'x3'tall and am looking for some advice. This will be a freshwater planted tank.

Filter- what would you recommend? I prefer to just do a single filter and am looking at the eheim 2250, 2260, and 2262

Holes in tank- I would like to have the tank drilled on the bottom so I don't have to see any hoses running up the side or back and am not sure what size the 2 holes for the "in"and "out" should be and what size bulkheads to fit the above eheims? Also where would I buy the bulkheads? lee-mar?

Thanks in advance!

lfs usually has bulkheads, and you can get them at lowes or home depot, if you use a lil imagination. just remember its sometimes tough to drill the bottom if its not in an overflow due to substrate being sucked in. id guess 1 inch bulkheads max for those filters

This is a brand new tank that I will have the manufacturer(Lee-Mar) drill for me. I just want to be prepared for when I order it next week and they ask me what size holes I want drilled.

When people say 1" bulkheads, I assume the actual diameter of the hole would be larger than that....correct?

Sorry. Meant to post something different. I am thinking two separate halide fixtures of 250w bulbs each. would love to do an led set-up but I don't think they can penetrate 36"
