My fish room
I just gave a co worker 75 bucks for this tv for my basement. The color is WAY off. The words on the screen are shadowed by an offset red and blue version of themselves as are the images on the screen. I tried adjusting the color, tint etc but nothing helps at all.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

I know it has not been run for a long time. I have it on right now just to see if letting warm up may help (i don't know if that even makes sense).

I already beat the crap out of it too.

Then it may be a simple matter of cleaning it, on the inside. My dad used to have one that went all fuzzy on him but he had somebody clean it and it worked like new.
Disclaimer* Dont try it yourself unless you're really good with electronics! TVs can kill you even if they're unplugged.

my old rear projector had something where you had to aim each light to center them. It would put a big X for each color on the screen and you would move them around till they were perfectly on top of each other. Can't remember how to do that now as its been so long.

For a rear projection tv there is a way to align the 3 projectors then focus it to fix the picture.Google the model # or look on the company website for the owners manual on how to do it.Its pretty easy.

Just search the setup menu for "convergence". This will allow you to manipulate the lights to get them lined up properly. The hardest part is usually finding it...but once you do...it should be easy to correct the problem.
